The Host Accomodation and Fellow Volunteers

Now that I am posting everything after I have had some time to process the information I have decided to do summary categories... My "Home" Stay...

As previously mentioned our home stay was a massive house that at one point had more than 30 volunteers staying in it at once... needless to say I think they took advantage of the advertisements of "home stay". Regardless of my disappointments for not getting the home stay I expected, I did meet some incredible people and have a great time.

The evening following my post of stage 2 of culture shock = irritability I had the best night at my home stay. We sat around dinner exchanging funny stories... I wish I could do there stories any amount of justice but for those who were there... we will always laugh at the thought of "this dog has bit me!" Following dinner we decided to play mafia which is a great group game that allows for all to be involved from old to young. It was a fabulous evening filled with laughter and conversations about the world and life.

The nights at the home stay ranged from nights like this of whole hearted family fun, to nights of sneaking wine up to our rooms (there is a no alcohol policy) and exchanging girl stories all night, to nights out to Carnivore (top 50 restaurant in the world), to amazing movie nights.

All in all it was a great experience at "Zambezi". I could not explain or put value you on how spending time with various groups of people, from all walks of life, in a country like Kenya impact you... but its profound
